27 Feb Behind The Stream: 104 Videos Later…
Steph: So we made 104 videos last year. Yeah, 2024.
Beth: Okay. So we made 104 videos. The first 50 or so, were part of our Behind The Stream series. So those videos we’ve been doing since 2018, we make one a week and it’s a case study, it’s something, we shoot them quarterly, sometimes less depending, we bang out several at once. Obviously we’re a video company, so we have, you know, editing for us is not as big of a deal. The other 50-whatever videos that we created were primarily do it yourself ones.
Beth in past video: Last week I made a quick video about how mainstream has been doing some UGC-style content.
Beth: There are several reasons why we did these types of videos. One is I really like to meet my clients where they’re at, and so many people were asking about how do I make TikTok videos? How do I make reels? You know, what goes into that? And honestly, I couldn’t really speak to it because that’s not what we do. That’s not what we had done. And I also got a little curious on does this strategy work? If you just start putting your mug out there and talking about what you know about and you do it every day, will– if you built it, will they come? Is that a reality? One of, one of the reasons why we immediately started to pull back is I got some feedback that it was unclear who we were targeting, and I think that that was because I was coming up with content as it relates to video, and any topic relating to video, and to come up with that much content all the time, it really, for at least us, wasn’t that strategic.
Beth: So right away– and I’m a business, I’m not trying to get my face on camera, like– I started my career as a producer to, because I always wanted to be behind the camera. In 2025 that is just not the world we live in. Everybody that is has access to this tool is gonna get beat out by people that aren’t using it. It’s just that simple. We started with about five a week, pretty quickly tapered off till about three and tried to be way more strategic on, okay, let’s talk about who we’re talking to because if we’re gonna create these, let’s make sure we’re attracting the right people.
Beth: We are a business. We do want customers that we’re looking forward to come through these videos. I’m not doing this just to get followers. We don’t care about likes or views. We care about revenue, we care about that bridge.
