Behind The Stream: Not Every Video Needs Us (Really)

I’m going to let you in on a little secret.

Not every video needs us.

I know. Strange thing for a video production company to admit.

A quick tip for your social followers, a shout-out to your team, a heads-up about a new product… A lot of video can be done in-house with a phone and a little know-how. And I’m all for it.

But some videos really do need a professional. The problem is that most businesses don’t figure out which kind they’re making until they’re knee-deep in a project that isn’t working.

And guess what…

You don’t have to be a video producer to know the difference.

You just need to understand a few key things about how the whole production process works, from the planning that happens before anyone hits record to the decisions made long after the camera’s packed up.

Once you know them, it’s a lot easier to tell when your phone and a free afternoon will do the trick, and when bringing in the pros will save you time, money, and a whole lot of frustration.

So what are those key things?

You’ll have to watch this week’s Behind the Stream to find out.

Trust me, it’s worth a few minutes before you plan your next video.
